Poster inspired by the life of Fannie Lou Hamer that was exhibited at the Black Praire Blues Museum.
The challenge of this design was to create a poster that encapsulated the importance of Fannie's work in a manner that was eye-catching and relevant. The ballot was used to reference the important voting acts work Fannie did as well as her instrumental contributions to the Freedom Democratic party at the time. Her work confronted critical issues others turned a blind eye to. The jarring stare of her eyes serves as a way to confront viewers now as they reflect on their contributions or lack there of to our current issues.
